Life’s Playlist by Marty Blackmon K59332
Hebrews 13:3, encourages us to, “remember them that are in prison, as if you yourself were in prison; and them that suffer adversity, as being yourself in the body.” In 1995, because of my own personal failures, I breathe in the Chicago’s cold winter air for the last time…I was 15. My dreams broken. Life since has shown me that it often creates it so that some of us experience prison and adversity, while others enjoy peace and life. The lesson being that, those who enjoyed peace and life will sympathize and feel the suffering of their brothers, as they would want when their time of trial comes.
Because of a new law-change, I’ve been blessed with a second chance. 27 years later, and 18 years of prolonged solitary confinement has given me a testimony… While it has been by faith and the belief in the unseen that has kept me alive, it is “music” that healed and soothes my spirit. Music connects us because it reaches the soul. Would you like to share my story with me “musically?” Like music, it transcends genre’s, age, culture, race, gender, circumstance and even languages… It began with:
1. “Runnin’ My Momma Crazy” by:Plies
2. ” MoreThan I Can Bear” by: Kirk Franklin
3. “So Many Tears” by: 2pac
4.”Vultures” by: Asking Alexandria
5. “Deliver Me” by: Donald Lawerence
6.”The Best In Me” by: Marvin Sapp
7.” Look How Far I’ve Come” by: August Alsina
8.” Love Brings Change” by: Jamie Foxx
9.” Hope This Makes You Love Me” by: Tank
10.”Run Til I Finish” by: Smokie Norful
